"For the past few
years I have been popping in and out of yoga studios trying everything
from Anusara to Bikram, but nothing ever stuck. Taking Ashtanga
yoga under Ursula's instruction for the past year has not only
ended my search, but I've gained something far more then I ever
expected. I look forward to the classes each week knowing that
for an hour and a half I can step within myself and release the
outside world. Ashtanga yoga has helped me find my inner peace,
enabling me to become a more focused, relaxed and confident individual;
not to mention it has change my physical appearance in a way no
other form of exercise has ever done. I am stronger, more flexible,
toned and in better overall shape now than I have been through
traditional exercise.
While it may be true that without the breath, Ashtanga yoga is
merely gymnastics, I cannot help but wonder what Ashtanga yoga
would be without Ursula's instruction. I would always recommend
Ashtanga yoga as a form of practice to someone interested in trying
yoga. However, I am sure that half of my addiction comes from
being led into the practice by someone such as Ursula."

"The inner harmony
that yoga has brought me is astounding. I began taking yoga with
Ursula one year ago through one-on-one personal training.
It allowed my husband and I to learn the foundation of yoga in
a private and convenient setting. We were searching for something
that released stress and integrated the physical body. The myriad
of benefits that I have received through my practice of Ashtanga
yoga are limitless. From a physical aspect, the strength and flexibility
of Ashtanga training helps to keep me fit. On a mental note, working
with the breath and body allows me to relax, focus and achieve
a calm place and general well-being that spills into my everyday
life. Continuing to attend Ursula's classes has helped me to progress
with my practice at home and when I travel. Yoga has truly been
a life changing experience and has become an integral and positive
part of my life."

"I started
Ashtanga yoga only with the goal of getting fit, as its reputation
was that of a very intense, power-based yoga. It has certainly
done that for me, better than any other athletic exercise I've
tried, be it individual or team-oriented. The limits are set only
by your effort and desire and there are always new levels to achieve.
But along the way, I found something much more important. Ashtanga
yoga also offers a way to gain control over your mind, your emotions
and ultimately, your life.
I'm not much for 'new age' fads or self-help plans,
but for those interested in learning, Ashtanga offers a serious,
comprehensive philosophy for living; studied and practiced as
much in it's own culture as Western philosophies have been in
Europe and America. As with most developed philosophies, Ashtanga
is not to limited to those in the East. These ideas apply equally
well across time, gender and culture, as proven by it's ever increasing
popularity here in America. Of course, this aspect of Ashtanga
yoga is not for everyone, nor is it required to take part in the
classes.
If you just want a good workout, I guarantee Ursula can lead you
through a program more intense than any you have ever tried. If
you want more than that, she can also provide a direction for
you to start that journey. As an instructor she has mastered her
craft, as a motivator she never fails to move people, and as a
source of knowledge she provides clear direction and insight.
When taken as a whole, Ursula is one of the rarest finds nowadays,
a true 'teacher.' Try one of her classes and you will understand
why many of her students travel so far to be in them. Just remember
to bring a towel."

"Two short years ago
I was overweight, unfocused and unable to touch my toes. Ursula
and Inner Power Yoga changed all of that—starting from the inside.
I learned that by accepting where we are, respecting our bodies
and practicing we can become closer to our full potential in yoga
as well as in life. I feel lucky to be a part of a wonderful,
welcoming class with such an amazing instructor."

"I have been studying
Ashtanga yoga with Ursula since I moved to the area in 2000. Ursula
is quite simply a wonderful and inspiring teacher with a thorough
understanding of Ashtanga yoga as both a physical and mental practice.
She is a patient, nurturing and most importantly a profoundly
knowledgeable instructor whose approach combines rigorous and
challenging practices. Her instruction also involves personal,
hands-on interaction that helps you to tailor the practice to
your own level. She respects your body’s strengths and its
limits and works with you so that you get the most out of every
practice. Ursula challenges you to expand your horizons at your
own pace and celebrates your achievements.
With Ursula’s help and guidance, I have improved and expanded my practice and
knowledge of yoga. When I met Ursula I felt as though I had finally
met a yoga instructor who would accompany me on my study of yoga,
while respecting my limits and goals. Up until I began to study
yoga, I never stuck with any form of exercise for more than a
year—I have been practicing yoga for almost seven years
now! It is an integral part of my life and Ursula has been a fantastic
guide."

"In yoga, I have
found something that challenges my body and mind simultaneously,
doubling the reward. I have been progressing with Ursula for nearly
two years. After my first class with her, I realized she was completely
in tune with each student. She recognizes and responds to the
needs of the class. Most importantly, she continually strives
to give us the ability for self-instruction, so that it is our
practice; something that belongs to us. She wants yoga, the physical
and the mental, to be something we take with us where ever we
go. I can honestly say, starting and continuing my practice of
Ashtanga yoga has been the best thing I have ever done for myself.
I can also say without Ursula, my journey would not have been
as great."
— Heather Huber |

Ursula is a wonderful instructor who cares passionately about

give my core some much needed centering. I feel very relaxed and
energized at the end of a practice. I can't imagine life without
it now. Thanks Ursula!!!"

"Yoga is truly a personal
journey. I have found a wonderful group of individuals to share
the trip with at Inner Power Yoga! In the months that I have been
practicing with Ursula and my fellow classmates, I have strengthened
my own practiced, deepened my knowledge of yoga and most importantly
had fun! Namaste."

"Since starting Ashtanga
yoga a year ago, I have grown stronger physically and mentally,
learned how to detect my weaknesses and strengths and met some
wonderful people through my practice.
I've found this form of yoga to be an extraordinary cardiovascular
workout that melts away stress, increases flexibility and develops
mindfulness both mentally and emotionally — A Total Mind-Body
Workout."
— Lynn Casciotti |
"I started taking
Ashtanga yoga two years ago with Ursula. I heard alot of hype
about Ashtanga yoga through TV and magazines but had no idea what
this type of yoga was about. I received a flyer offering Ashtanga
yoga classes at a studio near by and decided to give it a try.
I have been hooked ever since! Ursula has helped motivate me to
achieve my best mental and physical state through the practice
of Ashtanga yoga. Ursula's knowledge of Ashtanga yoga and its
correlation to the mind, body and spirit has brought me a truly
fulfilling experience."
— Josie Machaiah |
"I hate to exercise!
I have tried aerobics, pilates — even hired a personal trainer.
I didn't stay on course with any of the above. My husband and
I decided we needed to find a workout solution that both of us
could do and to help take us from our late forties into the aging
process gracefully.
We joined Ursula and her Ashtanga yoga. Two and a half years later
we continue to practice twice weekly with Ursula. Her professionalism,
gentle but firm motivation, extraordinary teaching ability and
delightful personality are just some of the reasons that we are
hooked. The others? Some include fitting into our college jeans,
feeling stronger and more flexible than we did in our 20's and
let's not forget, our family and friends asking if we have discovered
the fountain of youth.
Be kind to yourself--Take an Ashtanga yoga class with Ursula today,
I guarantee you will be glad you did."
